El Paso Electric has a plan for summer outages

Wednesday, June 6, 2012 - 7:25pm

EL PASO- E.P.E. already knows that power outages are more common during the summer months.

The power demands increase when El Pasoans overload electrical equipment with their convenience appliances. Outages can also be caused by Mother Nature or careless drivers. Regardless of the cause, E.P.E. is ready for the disruptions.

This past spring they have been doing preventive maintenance on the lines and ordering backup supplies to be used this summer. The even added an extra crew called the FLEX CREW. They arrive at 3 in the afternoon and leave at midnight. They also keep extra crews on hand during severe weather.

If you see troubled or outage lines, stay away!
