El Paso - A border patrol agent is dead, the victim of a terrible accident.
Osvaldo Munoz, 25, was driving in Far East El Paso when his car jumped a curb and smashed into a power pole.
He hit the pole so hard, it nearly tore the car in half.
The crash happened on Edgemere just past Tierra Angel around three this morning.
Munoz is from Anthony, New Mexico and was off-duty at the time.
Police say he was speeding.
