El Paso County Sheriffs Deputies arrested 30-year-old Erik Marquez-Carbajal on Friday morning and have charged him with Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of Controlled Substance.

Deputies stopped Carbajal at approximately 2:00 a.m. after he disregarded a stop sign at the 13400 block of Montana Ave. Deputies placed him under arrest for suspicion of DWI. Upon arrival to the Montana substation, deputies also found Carbajal in possession of cocaine after a search for Carbajal's cell phone resulted in the discovery of two bags and a folded dollar bill filled with white powder that subsequently tested positive for cocaine. The cocaine had a total weight of 1.5 grams.

Carbajal was booked into the El Paso County Detention Center with bonds totaling $3,250.
