Los Angeles, CA (CNN) — Coffee lovers lined up in Los Angeles this weekend for the grand opening of a new Dumb Starbucks coffee shop. That's right, it's not Starbucks, it's Dumb Starbucks.
According to news reports, the parody restaurant gave away free coffee drinks named after regular Starbucks products except with the word "dumb" in front of everything.
Not long after, the real Starbucks told the new operation to stop using its trademark.
At a news conference Monday, the restaurateur behind the shop admitted it was a publicity stunt for a comedy central show.
When asked about the possibility of a lawsuit against their dumb doppelganger, a Starbucks spokesman said the company was evaluating its options.
