Driver charged with DWI with 9-year-old child in car

According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, Abiel Correa, 40, was drunk and speeding when he lost control of his car and crashed into a parked tractor trailer at the intersection of NW Camp and NW 3rd St. in Fabens. The crash happened at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Correa, was arrested and charged with DWI with a passenger younger than 15 years of age after crashing his car with a 9-year-old child in the backseat.

A 42-year-old woman and the 9-year-old child were taken to the hospital injuries and are said to be in stable condition. Investigators said they were not wearing a seatbelt.
