El Paso, TX (KTSM) — The Texas Department of Public (DPS) today launched the Texas Alerts Twitter account.
The account will increase the ability to reach members of the public and media when issuing an AMBER, Blue, Silver and Endangered Missing Persons Alert.
Texas alerts will be managed by the State Operations Center at DPS, and although it is an experimental account at this stage, DPS encourages Texans to take advantage of Twitter’s instant visibility by following @TX_Alerts.
They encourage the community to retweet time-sensitive and potentially life-saving alerts.
