El Paso, TX (KDBC) — It's been a rough week for Küpper Gray, owner of Kipp's Cheesesteak, in downtown El Paso. On Wednesday, he said goodbye to his best friend and companion of twelve years, Quinn, his yellow Labrador retriever.
"To some people dogs are pets, to others they are friends, but to me Quinn was family," Küpper said. After the pain of losing his friend of twelve years, Küpper thought of ways he could honor his beloved dog and spread the joy that Quinn always gave to him.
To honor Quinn's memory, Kipp's Cheesesteak will be donating a portion of Friday, November 1, as well as accepting donations to benefit the Humane Society of El Paso.
The Humane Society of El Paso is the oldest and largest animal shelter in the City and County of El Paso and is the only "open door" animal shelter in the city. Last year, the Humane Society of El Paso took in over 3,840 unwanted pets and re-homed 3,876 animals that were in their care. They are a non-profit 501 (c)(3) and rely entirely on donations, fundraising, and service fees for all of their operating expenses.
If you are interested in donating to the Humane Society of El Paso in honor of Quinn or any other of your four-legged friends, stop by Kipp's Cheesesteak, 203 E. Mills Ave. Friday, November 1, between 11:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. where a portion of sales will go toward the Humane Society, and they will also be accepting donations.
