El Paso, Texas (KDBC) — Area plumbers are warning Thanksgiving chefs to be cautious of what you put down your drains.
Plumbers at Roto-Rooters work 24/7, but say if you want to avoid calling them tomorrow do not put oil down your drains, or food and turkey bones down your garbage disposal: they can all lead to clogs.
"Leftovers should go in a bag and not in the garbage disposal. A lot of times when they're cleaning their plates they should have the strainers on the drains," said plumber Jesus Merchado.
The City of El Paso is helping locals get rid of their turkey oil. Starting Saturday, the five citizen collection stations will be taking the oil to properly dispose of it free of charge.
They will be open from 8 am. to 4 p.m., and are located at: 1034 Pendale, 4200 Delta, 121 Atlantic, 4501 Hondo Pass, and 2492 Harrison.
