A Doña Ana County man was indicted on ten counts of criminal sexual penetration. Investigators allege he had an inappropriate relationship with a family member who was four years old at the time of the alleged molestation.

According to court documents, Hiram James Morris, 53, was arrested by Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies on Aug. 13 on ten counts of criminal sexual penetration of a minor and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, all felony charges.

Investigators say Morris allegedly had several opportunities where he was left alone with the victim and would allegedly touch her inappropriately. The victim reportedly told her father and stepmother, who called police.

The victim is currently undergoing extensive therapy and is under the sole custody of her father and stepmother.

Morris was booked into the Doña Ana County Detention Center on a $75,000 secured bond, which he posted the following day.
