The Doña Ana Community College Dental Health Clinic provides services to the community at a reduced rate while teaching its students.
At the clinic local dentists and professional instructors help students perform oral examinations, radiographs, preventive services, periodontal treatment, oral pathology and other miscellaneous treatments. The students perform duties as part of the dental hygiene associates of science degree or the dental assistant program.
Subsidized in part by the New Mexico State Legislature, the Dental Clinic is charged with helping meet the needs of the community. Currently six area dentists volunteer their time to work with future dental technicians and hygienists. The real world experience benefits the students who graduate ready to assist in the dental field.
Several months will include discounts for patients. In October New Mexico State University and DACC faculty and students services will receive 50% off already low prices and in February, children will receive 50% off. The clinic operates out of the DACC Central Campus at 3400 South Espina, DAMA Building, Room 80 in Las Cruces. An appointment can be scheduled by calling 575-528-7071.
