EL PASO - City council candidate and pastor Sonia Brown has been hit some ethical roadblocks recently in her campaign.

In her most recent financial report, she lists Dynamic Tools, Inc. as having donated $500 to her campaign.

But under the Texas Election Code, which the city follows, it's a third degree felony for a corporation to make a political contribution or for a a candidate to knowingly accept one from a corporation.

We got ahold of Sonia's husband Tom Brown, also a pastor with some controversy of his own, and he said while they wouldn't go on camera, Sonia didn't receive the check, he did.

He said they didn't know the company was a corporation and that they've since given back the check.

The district attorney's office says they won't look into it unless a complaint is filed.
