"Dark Knight Rises" rose to the top of the box office this weekend, despite the deadly shooting at a midnight screening of the film in Colorado.
The film raked in more than $160 million in its debut. That still put it a little below projections, which looked for between $170 and $200 million.
"Ice Age: Continental Drift" slipped to number two with over $20 million in ticket sales. "The Amazing Spider-Man" fell to third place, earning nearly $11 million over the weekend.
