Country star Rodney Atkins to perform at Freedom Crossing

Freedom Crossing at Fort Bliss announced that country music star Rodney Atkins will be the first concert of their annual Let Freedom Sing Concert Series, on Friday, May 23rd, 2014. The concert is free and open to the public.

Atkins, who has released four studio albums, has six number one singles including Take a Back Road, Farmer’s Daughter, Watching You, It’s America and If You’re Going Through Hell. Atkins is an avid supporter of the U.S. troops, and has completed a USO Tour through some of the most remote bases in Kuwait and Afghanistan in 2012.

This is the fourth year Freedom Crossing at Fort Bliss has hosted the free summer concert series, Let Freedom Sing. Other nationally acclaimed artists who have performed include Lee Brice, Eli Young Band, Jerrod Niemann, Blues Traveler, Gym Class Heroes and Karmin.

Rose Falcon will open for Rodney Atkins, along with Fort Bliss favorites Overton Road, returning from Colorado. The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. Concert attendees are encouraged to arrive early and get a spot on the lawn for the concert. No cooler or outside beverages will be allowed, and lawn chairs are permitted on concrete areas only.

Freedom Crossing and the Let Freedom Sing Concerts are free and open to the public. To access Fort Bliss, show a valid Driver’s License and U.S. plated vehicle at the Buffalo Soldier (formerly Robert E. Lee) or Cassidy gate, seven days a week, 24-hours a day. All adults in the vehicle are required to present identification at the gate.
