El Paso — The city is using $10,000 in discretionary funds to add a little more green to Northeast El Paso. City representatives along with a dozen Fort Bliss soldiers planted about 30 trees. The volunteers planted the greenery on Broaddus and McConnell yesterdray.
City Rep Susie Byrd says it's not only an effort to beautify these areas, it's also a chance to make the area safer for pedestrians. If you live in District 2 and would like a tree planted in front of your house, you can contact Susie Byrd's office at 533-5878.
