The City Of El Paso is also seeking to make streets along Mesa safer. Council will take action this Tuesday on whether or not to award a pedestrian enhancement project to Horizone Construction out of Socorro. The city is hoping to use federal funding, known as congestion mitigation and air quality (CMAQ) funding.

The project would address existing gaps between Camille and Baltimore streets. The project is estimated to cost more than $481,000.
