City Council Members Hoping to Get Approved Pay Raise

El Paso- City council members and the mayor are hoping voters approve a pay raise. Right now members make $29,000 dollars a year and the pay raise would bump it up $1,400 dollars. The mayor makes $45,000 dollars a year and get a $2,200 dollar raise. To put it in perspective, county commissioners make more than $60,000 dollars. City council is meeting several times next week to discuss the budget.

No, there should be a cap in salaries in El Paso. El Pasoans need to be watchful of City Reps, City Managers and HR's giving themselves high paying positions and pay raises. Nobody should be getting pay raises right now. As our economy in El Paso improves the only ones that should be getting raises is the Citizens of El Paso.
