Channels Restored After DIRECTV and Viacom Reach Agreement

After a 10-day blackout, Viacom has restored 17 of its channels to 20-million Direct T-V subscribers.

The two companies were feuding over fees, until they reached a resolution.

Direct T-V claims Viacom wanted a 30 percent boost, or an extra $1 billion, on top of its prior deal. 

Viacom said the amount was "a couple of pennies per day per subscriber."

The companies did not provide a dollar figure for the new deal.

Among the channels affected were Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, M-T-V, Spike, and V-H-1.

Direct T-V is the second-largest television service provider in the country, behind Comcast.

Viacom owns eight of the top 30 cable networks.
