El Paso, TX (KDBC) — El Paso Pro- Musica world renowned Cellist Zuill Bailey is scheduled to perform classical music to premature infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of El Paso Children’s Hospital on Friday, January 17 at 11am.
According the American Association of Pediatrics, music has been shown to reduce stress, decrease heart rate and salivary cortisol, and increase oxygen saturation, nonnutritive sucking rate, and even weight gain in preterm infants.
El Paso Pro-Musica celebrates its 35th anniversary and is one of the city’s most respected organizations.
The El Paso Chamber Music Festival, under the artistic direction of world renowned cellist Zuill Bailey spans the entire month of January and receives national and international critical acclaim each year with a history of bringing artistic excellence to the border region.
