EL PASO — U.S. Customs and Border protection officers at the El Paso port of entry seized more than $150 thousand in undeclared currency bound for Mexico.
On Tuesday, CBP officers stopped a 33-year-old man from leaving the county with $74,900.
This was the largest money bust out of four southbound currency seizures CBP officers and agents made in one week.
Individuals are permitted to carry any amount of currency into or out of the U.S. however, if the quantity is $10 thousand or higher, they must formally report the currency to CBP.
