The casket bearing the ramins of CSM Martin Barreras arrived Thursday morning at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson.

The Fort Huachuca select honor guard provided plane-side honors and the Patriot Guard riders escorted the casket to the funeral home.

The funeral and burial are scheduled for Saturday in Tucson. Gov. Jan Brewer has ordered all flags at state office buildings to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Saturday.

CSM Barreras, a top leader from Fort Bliss and an Army Ranger, died May 13 after he was wounded in Afghanistan. He was deployed with the Bulldog Brigade's 2nd Battalion 5th Infantry Regiment.

A memorial is planned at Fort Bliss on June 11.
