Cartel-Related Murder Trial Begins

Tuesday, February 26, 2013 - 12:54am

Jury selection began Monday in the case of a four-year-old cartel-related assassination.

Juan Gracia Jr., 19, is facing a capital murder conviction in the shooting death of Jose Gonzalez-Galeana in front of his home on Pony Trail Rd. back in 2009.

Gonzalez was a U.S. informant and Lieutenant with the Juarez Drug Cartel.

Two others, including Michael Apodaca, are also awaiting trial in the plot.

Another suspect is believed to be hiding out in Mexico.

Last month, Christopher Duran plead guilty for his involvement.

The judge has placed a gag order on the case.
