El Paso, TX (KDBC) — A man is in critical condition after a car strikes him in East El Paso, police said. The victim is a 59-year old man who ran across the Trawood near Dean Martin intersection a little before 11 p.m. on Sunday, authorities told us.
The intersection is not well lit and when the victim entered the intersection, a Chevy cavalier, driven by another man struck the pedestrian. The driver of the vehicle is not facing any charges and police said, the pedestrian may have been drinking when he entered the intersection.
The victim was taken to Del Sol Medical Center for severe head and leg trauma. Authorities have not released the victim nor the driver's identifications.
Special Traffic Investigators (STI) were at the scene for several hours trying to find out what may have caused the accident.
