Las Cruces, NM (KDBC) — Starting Tuesday, an open burn ban will go into effect in Las Cruces because of the drought conditions, according to a release from the Las Cruces Fire Department.
This will apply to areas within the city limits.
Open burning includes any burning that isn't done within an enclosed chamber through a stack or chimney.
The Las Cruces Fire Department will lift the ban once it perceives there "is no longer a significant threat" of a fire hazard.
