Brownsville man arrested for stealing purses, bottle of liquor and homeowners dog

A Brownsville man has turned himself into Harlingen authorities after an arrest warrant was issued for stealing several purses and a dog.

On Sunday, December 29, 2013, a Harlingen woman filed a burglary report of her residence, which occurred on December 28th, by an unknown person or persons.

She stated that the suspect or suspects entered her home by kicking open one of the French doors and stealing two purses, a bottle of liquor, a radar detector and her 3 year-old female Schnauzer totaling over $4,000 dollars.

Through the investigation detectives were able to recover the purses from a Brownsville pawn shop and linked a suspect, identified as Delbert Tyler Trevino, 22, to the burglary.

Trevino reportedly turned himself into police on Monday, January 6th after an arrest warrant was issued. He was charged with burglary of habitation and handed a $10,000 bond.
