BOSTON (CNN) — Lawyers for the only living suspect in the Boston marathon bombings say he's living under harsh prison restrictions.
Prosecutors argue the restrictions are necessary, due to what they call his "continued desire to incite others to engage in violent Jihad."
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's lawyers say he is "in near-total isolation," claiming the conditions violate his constitutional rights.
Court documents show Tsarnaev is banned from praying with other inmates and is only allowed out of his cell to meet with lawyers or spend short periods in an outdoor enclosure.
at one point, his lawyers say they were barred from showing family photos to Tsarnaev -- though prosecutors later relented.
The restrictions are designed to limit who can talk to Tsarnaev and what materials he can access.
