Laying Off 160 Workers

EL PASO — Boeing is going to layoff about 160 workers during the next two years at the company's manufacturing plant in Northeast El Paso. That's about 40 percent of the El Paso workforce.
Boeing says it will be offering severance packages to workers who leave..
The plant makes electronic parts for the military, but with cutbacks in the defense budget, Boeing reports there'll be less demand for the parts, and production will slow down..
Work done in three buildings at the site will be perfromed in just one buiilding.
