Raton, NM (KDBC) — Wildlife officials in New Mexico had a tricky situation on their hands earlier this week, when a bear got stuck to a power pole. It happened in the small town of Raton. The Department of Game and Fish says they shot the bear with a tranquilizer dart to bring him down, but as he fell asleep and began to fall, his collar from a previous capture got caught on a large bolt.
A bucket truck crew was eventually able to free the bear and safely lower him to the ground.
