Arsenic testing scheduled in La Union and Sunland Park

More testing will be done to water wells in the areas surrounding La Union and Sunland Park this time to private wells after higher than average levels of arsenic were found in public wells.

The testing will happen Wednesday, July 31 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Johnny Lolita's Coffee Shop on 3200 South highway 28.

Residents can pick one of the three options: 1) Bring a sample to Johnny Lolita's coffee shop; follow the instructions provided below.*  OR 2) Call 1-888-878-8992 and set an appointment for us to pick up a sample from your well; for sample collection, use the instructions provided below.*  OR 3)  Call 1-888-878-8992 and let us know you have filled out a form located at <http://www.nmenv.state.nm.us/gwb/NMED-GWQB-WaterFairs.htm> or <https://nmtracking.org/water> and leave a sample at your front door/gate for pick up.
