UPDATE: 3:40 p.m. The beating victim, 22-year-old Lionel Martinez, is now in a medically induced coma at University Medical Center in El Paso.
EL PASO - A second arrest has been made in a severe beating at the Old Plantation nightclub.
Roman Olvera, 19, is charged with aggravated assault.
Police say Olvera and several others got into an argument with 22-year-old Lionel Martinez a week ago Saturday. Martinez is in critical condition after being beaten with a baseball bat.
A 16-year-old juvenile is also charged in the assault.
While police insist this is an aggravated assault, the FBI is investigating the beating as a hate crime after reports of gay slurs being hurled at Martinez during the fight.
