EL PASO — If you're shopping for an iPhone, Target and Best Buy have dropped their prices on existing models.

Target is now offering 16 gigabyte versions of the AT&T and Verizon iPhone 4S for about $180 with a contract. Best Buy has slashed $50 off the price of the eight gigabyte iPhone 4 for both carriers. It's now at $50.

The price drops could signal the iPhone 5 is on its way.

Apple is reportedly planning to debut its next generation device at a special event in mid-September.
