Police have arrested the California man believed to be behind an Anti-Islam film that upset the Muslim world and sparked protests.
With his face covered by a scarf, officers in Los Angeles hauled Nakoula Basseley away in handcuffs Thursday.
Nakoula was in a federal courtroom afternoon for a preliminary bail hearing on charges he violated his probation.
He was convicted back in 2010 of bank fraud.
As part of his probation, Nakoula is not allowed to access computers or any device that can access the internet, or post on the internet without approval from his probation officer.
The low-budget movie, "Innocence of Muslims" sparked violent protests after clips of the film from YouTube aired on Egyptian television.
Muslims in Egypt, Yemen, Tunisia, Morocco, Sudan, Iran, Iraq and the Palestinian territories protested.
