UTEP got a grand slam from Preseason CUSA player of the year Camilla Carrera in the 1st inning, but the Miners could not hold on to the 4-1 lead, losing 8-6 to New Mexico State at Helen of Troy Field on Thursday. NMSU scored 6 runs in the 6th inning to pull away. NMSU improves to 11-2 , while UTEP falls to 4-6.
Starting Friday, UTEP, will hosting the UTEP Invitational, 2pm against Texas State.
