EL PASO, TX — A man will have to pay hundreds of dollars because someone poured acid all over his SUV. It's something police said they've never seen.
David Summers' white SUV was parked in front of his house on Larry Hinson Drive and Bob Mitchell in east El Paso and when he woke up, all he could do is watch while the paint melted off his SUV.
He said even the police were surprised at what they saw.
"I was shocked obviously. We live in a nice neighborhood and neighbors tend to keep track of everything going on in the neighborhood," said David Summers. "I did call the police and they responded and they were quite surprised. They said they've never seen an acid attack on a car like this."
The El Paso police said there is an investigation into a criminal mischief report. They cannot say what kind of substance was poured on the SUV because it's an on-going investigation.
