Las Cruces Crime Stoppers are asking the community's assistance for information that helps identify a man suspected of sexually assaulting a 46-year-old Las Cruces woman last week.

LCPD say that shortly after 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11th, the victim returned to her home in the 700 block of Frank Maes Avenue after taking her kids to school. The victim told police that she fell back asleep in her bedroom and woke up to the sound of her dogs barking.

The woman said that when she woke up, she saw a masked man standing over her. Detectives with the Las Cruces Police Department suspect that the man struck the woman, knocking her unconscious. When the woman eventually woke up around 10:00 a.m., she realized she had been sexually assaulted.

The victim described the man as either white or Hispanic with a medium build. He was wearing a black ski mask and possibly a blue shirt.

Anyone with information that can help identify the suspect is asked to contact Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or send a tip via text message to CRIMES (274637), keyword LCTIPS.

The Crime Stoppers number and text messaging services are operational 24 hours a day and you do not have to give your name to collect a reward.
