LAS CRUCES, N.M. — A district court judge denied a bond reduction for a Las Cruces woman accused of killing another woman last October.
Jacklyne Legarreta, 23, is charged with murder for allegedly stabbing and killing Delia Vasquez at a house party.
Legarreta has been locked up at the Dona Ana County Detention Center under a $150,000 bond.
Defense Attorney Joe Coronado was hoping to have that bond cut in half to help family come up with the money.
Judge Fernando Macias denied a reduction this morning citing there is no significant reason to reduce her bond.
Coronado said he plans to appeal the ruling because there is no factual evidence Legarreta is a flight risk or a danger to the community.
A trial date has been set for June 24th.
