(CNN) — Another member of the Bush family is making a bid for office in Texas. George P. Bush, the eldest son of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, filed paperwork in the Lone Star State to run for land commissioner.
The position is viewed as a jumping point for more prominent statewide office. You may remember the young Bush hit the campaign trial as top surrogate for his uncle George W. Bush, during both of his presidential campaigns.
