Ghostlight is calling all filmmakers to participate in the 2nd 48-hour Film Slam!

Filmmakers will have 48-hours to write, produce and edit a short film for a total of $1000 in prize money.

The festival is open to all experience levels, including novices.

The Ghostlight 48 Hour Film Slam begins 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, at Kinley’s House Coffee, where each team will receive official rules and instructions to ensure the films are entirely produced over weekend.

Three judges from the film industry will judge each entry based on story, directing, acting and technical merit.

Film fans are invited to attend the Film Slam screening party Sunday, June 30 from 4-8pm at Tricky Falls.

Participants’ films are eligible to be screened at the 2013 Plaza Classic Film Festival in August. All films will have a permanent place on Ghostlight’s YouTube channel.

Proceeds from the Film Slam will support the Tapestries of Life charity, which is currently constructing a new orphanage on 27 acres of land in Guadalupe, Mexico (across Fabens, Texas). When completed, the Casa de Gemas (House of Gems) orphanage will house 400+ children and will be the largest orphanage in Latin America.
