About Us

When you think of cosmetic laser and plastic surgery, you may think of L.A. or New York. You think of the places where fashion rules and all the must-haves are available and easily accessible. You may even think these things are completely out of your reach.

But it's time to wake up and look at what's in the Sun City. It's time to realize that what you can get in those big cities is actually completely attainable without taking a flight. And beginning in 2008, you may not even have to drive across town.

The Cosmetic Laser and Surgery Center of El Paso isn't a new start-up business, and it's definitely not a center that is simply jumping on the band wagon of plastic surgery. In fact, the center considers itself, and rightly so, the trendsetter for cosmetic surgery, laser treatments, and skin rejuvenation in El Paso. Their history proves it; their vision guarantees it.

This September brings the tenth anniversary of the Cosmetic Laser and Surgery Center of El Paso, and with it, the founder, Dr. Lyle Weeks, MD, continues to demand excellence out of his clinic and growing team. What started with a single doctor and a regular nurse in 1997 has now grown to include 11 staff members (4 laser technicians, 2 aestheticians, and 5 patient care coordinators), not including Dr. Weeks and Dr. Mark Jabor, MD, who performs aesthetic surgery on both the face and body.

Although Dr. Weeks is not a native El Pasoan, he has made El Paso his home since serving in the Army as a department chief at Beaumont Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and the American Board of Laser Surgery. Dr. Week practices as a cosmetic facial surgeon whose expertise is fully developed in areas that include face lifts, neck lifts, eye lid surgery, nasal surgery, and facial fillers.

In 1997, Dr Weeks, saw a need in El Paso for treating wrinkles with lasers, so he bought the city's first aesthetic laser and began a practice that other clinics have since attempted to copy in El Paso. Although the center's growth was gradual in the first few years, Dr. Weeks is proud of what the center has accomplished. He says, "The Cosmetic and Laser Surgery of El Paso has grown tremendously over the past ten years. This year, we have more patients than last year, and last year more than the year before. We've had over 10,000 patients and performed over 40,000 laser procedures."

That's quite a feat for a city that doesn't have the population that major cosmopolitan cities do, but facial treatments aren't the only procedures that the center offers. In August 2000, Dr. Mark Jabor joined the center's team and offers what Dr. Weeks doesn't - a concentration on aesthetic body procedures - though he does some facial procedures as well.

Dr. Jabor is board certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a native El Pasoan who completed a plastic surgery residency in Houston where he developed his outstanding surgical skills in areas including breast augmentation, breast reduction, fat transfer, and liposuction.

Dr. Weeks then came back to El Paso to help create a center that offers the most comprehensive package for aesthetic procedures in El Paso. "If it's one thing I want El Pasoans to know, it's that we offer a complete package from non-surgical treatments to invasive surgery. We are on the cutting age of aesthetic laser and surgical treatments that have been tried and approved."

In fact, since Dr. Jabor's commitment to the center started, the Cosmetic Laser and Surgery Center of El Paso has grown in status and is more than competitive with aesthetic clinics in bigger Texas cities like Dallas and San Antonio. "There are definitely clinics with much of our technology, but I can't think of a center in Texas that is as comprehensive or bigger than ours," says Dr. Weeks. And while the number of clinics may abound in L.A. and New York, Lori Quirarte, the clinic's public relations representative, says, "I would put our clinic up against any clinic out there."

It's not just two knowledgeable doctors that set the Cosmetic Laser and Surgery Center of El Paso as the standard in this city. While the Center opened with just one laser in 1997, that laser has since been replaced (as have others), and the center currently has nine lasers available in the cosmetic field that the doctors and technicians use to perform procedures ranging from fractional resurfacing to scar treatment.

While other clinics throughout El Paso and the United States may be content with whatever laser they can afford, the Center of El Paso wants to offer the best and most comprehensible and most advanced lasers available, and these can run from well over $200,000. This commitment to their lasers ensures not only that the service you desire is obtainable in the Sun City but also that you will be receiving the best and latest in laser technology.

And if you are wondering what Dr. Weeks and Dr. Jabor require of their technicians, it's more than enough to maintain the center as a model for other El Paso laser clinics. Each technician must remain certified and attend at least one advanced laser surgery seminar a year. So when you are sitting in the chair and wondering just how qualified the person using a laser on your face and body is, you needn't worry. The technician or physician holds to the utmost standards.
