Search Intensifies for Missing Soldier

The search for the missing Fort Bliss soldier intensified, after knowledge of her disappearance entered its 29th hour, Saturday evening.

If only the walls inside apartment 609 could talk.   They may answer just what happened to Jeneesa Lewis, the missing Fort Bliss soldier.   Saturday evening, clues to her disappearance were sealed in by blaring red police tape.

Tim Dodge lives in the same apartment complex as Lewis.   His side door peers right into the missing soldier's apartment, that she shares with her husband.

If there were any noises, suggesting a struggle, Dodge would have been just an ear shot away.  But he said it was quite Thursday night.  "The night before I was here all night and didn't hear anything," said Dodge.  But what police found in the apartment, the next morning, screamed foul play.

Friday morning, Fort Bliss called El Paso police asking them to check on a soldier that didn't report for duty that morning.  Around noon, Dodge said, he saw six soldiers standing outside Lewis' apartment.  About an half hour later police swarmed the complex, roping off two buildings inside.  One was Lewis', the other was Dodge's.

As investigators took out boxes of evidence Dodge watched in disbelief.  Another female soldier gone missing; her husband, named a person of interest and it was all taking place outside his window.  "Like on the news with the soldier in North Carolina it was shocking that it happened close to here," said Dodge.

When we asked Dodge, "From what you saw yesterday, do you think she's at all alive?" he shrugged his shoulders, looked down at the cement bellow his feet before answering, "I think there's a possibility and I really hope so."

Saturday evening, the soldier's apartment was still blocked off with red tape.  While police stood guard outside.

Police believe Jeneesa may be traveling inside her 2001 Dodge Dakota pick-up with TX license plate: 20ZFD7.  Police believe the missing soldier,Jeneesa Lewis, is with her husband and is in danger.

Anyone with information about Jeneesa or Clinton Lewis is asked to police immediately.
